You (Yes, you HC reader) have been searching for that genuinely good guy with a light-hearted personality and charming smile.Ā  You probably werenā€™t expecting a onesie, but look past thatā€”Baustinā€™s quite a catch!
Her Campus: What campus activities are you involved in?
Brian Austin: Picture Taking, DePauw Cross Country, DePauw Track & Field and a member of MOFOā€¦thatā€™s all I am aware of.

Ā

HC: What is your nickname?

BA: People call me Baustin (pronounced Boston), you know like Brian mixed with Austin.
Ā

HC: What is your favorite quote?

BA: Prefontaine: ā€œTo give anything less than your best, is to sacrifice the gift.ā€

Ā

HC: What is your favorite outfit?

BA: My golfing ā€˜onesieā€™

Ā

HC: What is next to your bed?

BA: I have a small room so everything: TV, refrigerator, N-64.

Ā

HC: What is your dream girl?

BA: Donā€™t know. I love all of them.

Ā

HC: What is the best thing to do on a date?

BA: I love smiling. Ā Dinner at Chipotle, I mean Panera Bread. Ā Trio and J. Alexanders is reserved for the love of my life. Ā Graeterā€™s too.

Ā

HC: What is your greatest fear?

BA: I am afraid of wild animals that claw me. Ouch. Like mice, raccoonsā€”they are so unpredictable! I woke up late Saturday night and heard scratching near my desk. Ā The next morning, I hear it again. Ā I go to my desk, open the door, and what do I seeā€¦A MOUSE! Ā It landed on my head. Ā I screamed. Ā It jumped off. Ā I cried. Ā I am 20 years old. Ā I freaked out thinking I may have rabies.

Ā

HC: What is your greatest strength?

BA: Iā€™ve been told that Iā€™ve never been awkward. Ā No awkwardness. Ā I am fun. Ā I walk in a room and have no trouble making conversation, no matter what the circumstance.

Ā

HC: What is your take on PokƩmon

BA: I hate PokĆ©mon. Ā When I was young my father pretended to play PokĆ©mon with me, I hated that.

Ā

HC: What is your favorite movie?

BA: Hereā€™s the thingā€¦I canā€™t choose one. Maybe I like comedy. Maybe I like horror. Who knows? Actually, The Departedā€”thatā€™s my favorite.

Ā

HC: If you had to spend one day as a member of the opposite sex, what would you do?

BA: I canā€™t answer it. If I were a girl, Iā€™d know every guy ever. No awkwardness. Ā In reality, Iā€™m a very good man. Ā I am true to everyone.

Ā

HC: If you could be any kitchen appliance what would you be?

BA: Cleaver because I cut everything out. I donā€™t take crap from anybody. Whether itā€™s rice or steak, I will cut through it.

Ā

HC: What is your favorite thing to do on campus?

BA: I really like going out to the frats, and campus golf in my golfing onesie. Ā A girl gave [it] to me. I like to pretend that Iā€™m good at golf.

Ā

HC: Who is your campus celebrity crush?

BA: Ok, itā€™s a girl I donā€™t know. I met her at the freshman party. Ā Her name is Jane, I think. Ā I mean, sheā€™s tallā€”I like tall girls. Ā Or Iā€™d say Mary White, the girl who gave me [the golf] onesie.

Ā

HC: What is your astrological sign?

BA: (without hesitation) Scorpio.

Ā

HC: What is your ideal rainy day activity?

BA: Sleeping or watching movies. I like television, N-64. I like Halo-2.

Ā

HC: What is your favorite childhood memory?

BA: I was about 4 or 5 and was obsessed with Batman, just your typical American boy. On Christmas Eve my parents told me that Santa was coming so I put on my Batman sleeping PJā€™s with a nice Velcro cape. I ran around the house with it on. At 9 PM, a Santa Clause figure came inside while I was still running around the house. A real Santa, people! Red suit, white trim, white long hair. Ā He said to me, ā€œBryan I am glad to see you.ā€ I Never forgot it. I loved it. Santa is real. Santa gave me a batman action figure. It talked! It had a conversation waiting for me to respond. Personally, that was awesome.

Ā

HC: What is your favorite thing about DePauw thus far?

BA: The social atmosphere. It just feels like home. I didnā€™t know why I picked DePauw until I got here, but now itā€™s because of the people. I love the people. There is just a ā€œCampus Familyā€ here that you cannot get anywhere else. Ā
