Due to popular demand (not really) I present to you another iteration of DePauw Webkinz: First year dorm edition.
Lucy
Starting off strong we have Lucy Rowland Hall as the Bat. For me this choice was a no brainer. In my time here at DePauw (less than a year) there have been– to my knowledge– two separate incidents where we had a bat visit. Obviously, no one was hurt or turned into a vampire. So really it’s no big deal but if I had a nickel for every time this has happened in less than 12 months… “I’d have two nickels – which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.” – Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz
Humbert
Dalmatian | WKN: Webkinz NewzÂ
Next dorm-webkinz duo that came to mind was Humbert and the Dalmatian. This is simply due to the frequent visits from the Greencastle Fire Department. Not because the dorm catches on fire all the time, but because the fire alarm seems to be a bit trigger happy.Â
Jordan-
Signature Bernese Mountain Dog | WKN: Webkinz NewzÂ
Okay, this next duo needs a bit more of an explanation: Vernon E. Jordan Jr. Hall and the Signature Bernese Mountain Dog. This pairing did not come as easily to me as the previous two did so bear with me while I reveal the correlation. When thinking about Jordan what came to mind was the fact that it was the only dorm shown to me on my campus tour. Now, no shade but this makes sense, afterall it is the newest dorm. So I went on a webkinz search for an animal that was a tour guide equivalent. I found the Signature Bernese Mountain Dog and choose it ultimately due to it’s little biography. The webkinz description says “If you need a tour guide for a hilly hike then you can’t go wrong with the Bernese Mountain Dog! This polite pooch loves to help others get where they need to go.” which is perfect because it gives tours and helps people find their destination. In my case DePauw is where I needed to be, although I don’t live in Jordan but it’s whatever.
BR and Longden
Guinea Pig | WKN: Webkinz NewzÂ
Now for BR and Longden, unfortunately I was drawing a blank on what to do for these two but I found a solution! Something unique about these two dorms is the tunnel connecting them, therefore I have chosen the Guinea Pig for the representative webkinz for BR and Longden. Now this may seem like a copout on my part and to be honest it is because I couldn’t think of anything that made sense for either of these.
