Are you a freshman? Are you feeling bittersweet about your first year coming to an end? Me too. These are difficult times for you and me, but I have a little idea to numb the pain. Quick, small adventures that will make your freshmen year end with a bang. Nothing wrong with amazing memories with long lasting friends.
Â
Â
Let’s get started.
Â
Â
First things first, add to the mural in the Longden tunnel. As we move on to upperclassmen housing or to Greek housing, we will find ourselves in the freshman dorms less and less. The Den is closing and even though the convenience store will stay, the tunnel may fade into a distant memory. Help yourself be remembered and mark your place at DePauw.Â

Â
Next, experience what may seem like the impossible and visit every fraternity in one night. While this sounds crazy, it can be a great memory with your freshman friends. Of course you will stay friends with everyone on your floor, but you will all be going your separate ways next year. Why not create one last memory together? It is the perfect adventure. Pointless, but why not?!Â
Â
Â
As the weather is warming up, it is the perfect time to have a nice picnic in DePauw’s Nature Park. Now this should not be any picnic, but a farewell picnic. Instead of inviting your closest friends, invite other freshman that you have not gotten to know as well. It is a great idea to make new friendships and have no regrets as the year is winding down.Â
Â
Â
Another crazy idea, we all love Marvin’s right? Well Marvin’s delivers. Marvin’s is here to meet your needs. When studying immensely for your finals, order an abundance of Marvin’s at 1a.m., including the GCB, mac bites and anything else that tickles your fancy. Not only will it make studying a little less gruesome but it is a memory to remember. Â
Â
Â
Â
Last but not least, the bolder run. That’s right, if you have not yet participated in the bolder run, the time is running out. Not only is it tradition here at DePauw, but, as a freshman, it is your transition into a true Tiger.Â
Â
Â
Now these are a few suggestions but the possibilities are endless. There is still one week left of classes, which is plenty of time to create new memories that will last forever. From one first-year to another, do not take this time for granted.Â
