Who doesn’t love a good laugh!? DePauw students don’t need to wait long until they get one!
Â
Emmy-Award winner Jimmy Kimmel is coming to DePauw this Saturday, November 8th.  Jimmy Kimmel is the host of the late night talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live. The Ubben Lecture is named, “An Evening with Jimmy Kimmel” and is a part of DePauw’s ArtsFest. This lecture has been creating a lot of buzz around campus and can promise to bring a large crowd. This event will begin at 7:30pm and will take place in Kresge auditorium and doors will open early.
DePauw has a history of bringing wonderful and exceptional speakers to campus such as Bill Clinton, Spike Lee, Martin Luther King III, Leymah Gbowee and Jane Goddall. Kimmel will take his place along a history of incredible speakers and is sure to meet all of our expectations. I know many people may be wondering how exactly it was that DePauw got the opportunity to bring Jimmy Kimmel to campus. Tom Chiarella, a writer for Esquire magazine, published a story on Kimmel in the April 2014 issue; it was from this that Chiarella and Kimmel developed a relationship, which then allowed Kimmel and his team to connect with DePauw (DePauw.edu).
I personally cannot wait for Saturday. This is such a unique experience for DePauw students, and although this event will be a conversation between Kimmel and other DePauw staff onstage, I am sure he will have us laughing the whole time. This is definitely an event you do not want to miss.
