I have been waiting for Disney+ to come out since it was first mentioned. The thought of having every Disney and Pixar movie in reach was exciting. I’m not afraid to admit that I stayed up to buy it as soon as it was released. I (unfortunately) came down with a cold that prevented me from leaving my bed on the same day, so I spent that whole day in and out of sleep watching all my old favorites.

I have to say, Disney+ is everything that I was hoping for. The streaming site includes Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel and National Geographic. The streaming service has everything from Atlantis to the live action Beauty and the Beast.  There is an endless supply of movies to watch. I was also surprised on the amount of live actions from Disney that were included in the spread of movies. Also included are all the old Disney channel shows that bring back so many good memories. Like Wizards of Waverly Place, remember when Bridget Mendler guest starred? I didn’t until I saw it when reading the descriptions for the episodes. The point is: if you remember a Disney movie or show from your childhood—Disney + has it.

However, as much as I love Disney +, there are a few draw backs. First, the site does not keep track of what you are currently watching so you have to find the movie first to pick up where you left off. This is definitely a minor problem, but it can be irritating when you just exited the movie and now you have to look it up again (I’m looking at you “Inside Out”). Another drawback is that the site glitches at some points. This was more of a problem in the first couple of days because of the amount of people streaming it. I feel like Disney will resolve this but for right now, it remains a problem.

Disney + is well worth the amount you have to pay for. In fact, I’m thinking that it might even be better than Netflix. There are so many movies that it’s hard to get bored especially when you realize that you haven’t watched some of them before. I give Disney+ a 9.5/10. The site is a walk down memory lane, and it will be exciting to see how they improve it as time goes on. If you are like me, a kid at heart—this streaming service is the place for you. I honestly don’t know how I survived this long without it. This site is well worth the investment especially as the Christmas (and the long break) rolls around.
