Some days I find myself getting lost in the many topics of Ted Talks, exposing myself to new ideas and information or finding motivation for the day. One of my favorites is an empowering spoken word poem called, “If I Should Have a Daughter,” by Sarah Kay. Kay joined her first slam team at the age of fourteen and has continued performing poetry since. She founded Project V.O.I.C.E., a program that uses spoken word poetry to empower youth.
“Don’t you ever apologize for the way your eyes refuse to stop shining. Your voice is small but don’t ever stop singing.” –Sarah Kay
