Not only do I write for Her Campus, but I also have a podcast with 3 other cast mates named “Chocolate City”. During our latest episode we each shared our top ten rappers of all time. Here goes my top 5.
-
Tupac
-
Who doesn’t love Tupac? He was a poetic, a lyricist, and a person who spoke his mind no matter what anyone else had to say. His music is something that will be played for, and even dissected in college campuses around the world.
-
Biggie
-
As a East Coast native how could I not put home on my top 10. One more chance is still played in the car no matter how old it gets. The Notorious B.I.G could rap to anything, fast or slow.
-
Lil Kim
-
Lil Kim will forever reign the queen of hip-hop no matter how many females come after her. She was the only female in Junior Mafia and still could compete with any of the boys on her team. She was also fashionable, let’s not forget her famous purple dress.
-
Nas
-
Nas will forever be in my top. Not only can he rap, but he looks good while doing it. Illmatic is an album everyone should know, and if you don’t you need to listen to it right now. His flow is something unmatched.
- Jay-Z
-
All I have to say about is The Blueprint, one of my favorite albums. All the songs are definitely classics. Of course, he gets some extra points for being married to Queen b. He makes songs for everyone and every occasion.
These were my five-top artist, maybe you should ask your friends their top five and have a little debate.
