Top Five Tips for Incoming Freshman

Candice Lambert

  1. Get to know your professors

Getting to personally know your professors will help you out a tremendous amount. They not only will help you pass their class, but more than likely if they see you work hard and come to them for help they may bump your borderline grade up at the end of the semester

  1. Ask for help

Do not be afraid to ask for help if you’re struggling. There are plenty of resources to go to if you do not feel that comfortable asking your professor. There are student instructors who are willing to help you, and there are tutoring centers on campus open all day.

  1. Do not bring your entire closet to your dorm

You definitely will not have that much closet space so take what you really need until you have the opportunity to go back home.

  1. Manage your time

Plan out ahead of time of what assignments are due during the week. This will keep you on track and allow you to make time for a social life as well.

  1. Get involved

Joining new organizations on campus is a way to meet new people you may not have talked to.
