If there is anything that Queen Bey has taught us, it’s that we girls run the world. Sometimes it may seem hard to find the right place to express yourself and receive the help or support you need, but with the right #squad you can conquer the world. Luckily, there are tons of organizations here in Philadelphia that you can join that empower women.

1. Girls Auto Clinic Who said women don’t know anything about cars? The founder of GAC says otherwise. This company empowers women to learn about the automobile industry. They aim to change the way the industry views and markets to women through education and niche marketing.

2. MoguletteIt is no secret that more and more women are entering the STEM world, and Mogulette wants to help those who are interested in the tech side of the entrepreneurial world. They focus on educating, empowering, and mentoring women of color through various events, including panel discussions where women share their experiences.

3. Lia Diagnostic There is nothing worse than a pregnancy scare, but thanks to Lia Diagnostics you can take a simple, but effective pregnancy test that’s paper-based and flushable. Lia Diagnostics is a Philadelphia startup company seeking to eliminate the embarrassment of purchasing a standard pregnancy test in drugstores.

4. PHL Bloggers If you’ve ever dreamed of writing your own blog then this is the perfect group for you! PHL Bloggers is a network of small blog owners in the Philadelphia area. Bloggers can learn more about the platform, increase their readership, and find support from people just like them.

5. Girl Develop It Coding is not just for guys! If you don’t know where to take coding classes, you should look for a Girl Develop It chapter near you. They are a nonprofit organization that provides affordable programs for adult women who are interested in learning about web and software development.

6. City Fit Girls Living in a city it can be easy to forget about being fit and maintaining a healthy lifestyle between the available public transportation and delicious restaurants. City Fit Girls goal is to change this by providing a space for girls and women to find diet and fitness tips.

7. Women Bike PHL Can you believe that just one third of all bicyclists are women? Women Bike PHL is trying to close the gender gap when it comes to biking by encouraging women of all ages and all backgrounds to ride the streets of Philly!

8. ROAR for Good ROAR for Good is a new company that has developed smart self-defense jewelry that sends your GPS location to your friends and loved ones. Read about their mission and their first product to see what this company is all about.

9. Rad Girls Rad Girls celebrates women who achieve, innovate, and inspire. This organization aims to provide career advice, personal stories, updates about the professional world, and more to women, all while celebrating success.

Philadelphia Women in Film and Television Philadelphia Women in Film and Television is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to recognizing, celebrating, and advancing the professional development and achievement of women working in all areas of film, television, video, multimedia, and related disciplines.

11. SheTechPhilly Girls can do anything in the tech world—from coding to designing websites! SheTechPhilly wants females to continue to pursue jobs in technology and computer science, so they provide a community website that helps girls know everything going on in tech.

12. Girls Rock Philly If music is your passion this is the perfect place for you! Girls Rock Philly is a nonprofit organization that is volunteer-based and helps mentor and empower young women from the Philadelphia region. They hold activities to inspire leadership skills, critical thinking, music education, and creativity.

13. Girls, Inc. of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey The goal of Girls, Inc. of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey is to inspire girls ranging from 6 to 18 years old to be strong, smart, and bold. They address the unique needs of each girl by fostering relationships between young girls and mentors. They cover topics from leadership and community services to math, literacy, and sports.

14. Women Organized Against Rape (WOAR)

WOAR’s mission is to eradicate any form of sexual violence through services including educational programs and advocacy. They have an education department, as well as counseling services. They also have a hotline that is available to women who wish to speak anonymously about their experiences.

With so many places dedicated to helping young women thrive and be the best you can be, there’s no excuse not to reach for the stars! No matter your interests, there’s an organization out there ready to support you and help you achieve great things. Who runs the world? Girls!
