You’ve adopted the City of Brotherly Love as your second home, but when it comes to sporting events, you have to remain loyal to your home team when they visit the city! Hockey season is in full effect right now and I recently went to a Flyers game as a Bruins fan. Let’s just say you could’ve cut the tension with a knife. That experience inspired me to capture 14 experiences a non-Flyers fan has while attending a Flyers game!
1. The excitement on your face when you realize that your beloved home team is playing the Flyers
2. Walking into the Wells Fargo Center wearing your home team’s jersey with pride
3. The look that Flyers fans give you when they see you wearing said jersey
4. Being the only non-Flyers fan in a sea of Flyers fans
5. When Flyers fans berate you and your home team
6. But you don’t care because you know your loyalty to your team will never die
7. When the game starts and you’re ready to follow your team into battle
8. When the first fight breaks out
9. Any time the Flyers score
10. Any time your home team scores
11. When the score is tied
12. When the Flyers go home with a win
13. When your team pulls through and scores to win the game
14. Waiting for the next game like…
These reactions sum up how you may feel cheering for a whole other team. It can be exhausting, but it’s worth it. It’s always great to keep your hometown pride in a new place (no matter how many dirty looks you get)! Let us know what experiences you’ve had cheering for the visiting team!
