5 April’s Fool Dorm Pranks

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Drexel chapter.

April Fools’ Day is this week which means it’s time to start plotting your pranks. This is great day to have a little fun with your friends before everyone gets into serious study mode. If you’re too busy buying textbooks and enjoying the spring weather to plan out elaborate pranks, here are five easy pranks for you to pull on your friends. Remember, April Fools’ is a day when you’re supposed to have fun, but always keep it safe and low key.

1. Nicholas Cage is EverwhereWe all know the classic meme picture of the beloved actor. It’s funny if a bit creepy. Now imagine how it will look to see him all around your dorm, in the most random places ever. Paste a picture of good ol’ Nick in your roommates phone, in the mirror, or even in her/his closet. Remember to put it in really random places so they can be surprised throughout the day.

2. Minty OreosNobody can resist an Oreo. And who can blame us; they make the perfect snack when you are cramming for school. For this prank, open the Oreos, take out the delicious stuffing (set it aside to eat, of course), then put white toothpaste in the middle of the two Oreo cookies. Offer them to your classmates and friends and wait for the priceless look on their faces.

3. Eating Mayonnaise:Mayonnaise makes a great condiment, but eating it alone is a little disturbing. For this trick, empty a jar of mayonnaise and fill it with vanilla pudding. In the middle of a class, whip out your mayonnaise jar and eat the pudding. The reactions will be priceless.

4. Fake Bugs:Bugs are disgusting and terrifying. They are even worse when they are inside your house, a classroom or a bathroom. If you want to scare some friends, put some fake bugs (which you can pick up at the dollar store) around the dorm or on top of your roommate’s desk. You can’t never go wrong with a little scary prank.

5. Short Sheet:If you’re looking for a great prank for your roommate this is the one. Instead of tucking the sheet at the foot of the bed as normal, tuck it in upside down: at the head of the bed. Take the edge of the flat sheet in the foot of the bed and fold it up toward the head of the bed in order to make it resemble a properly installed flat sheet. The fold will go across the center of the bed. Put the comforter and pillows as normal and wait for the prankee to be pranked. View this video for more detailed instructions.

Remember this day is for fun Dragons! Get your supplies ready and start plotting your pranks. Be sure to stay alert in case someone pulls a prank on you!
