5 Ways To Celebrate Galentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Drexel chapter.

Don’t pout about your single status on Valentine’s Day while some of your friends are out with their significant others getting wined and dined! Embrace the fact that you can spend time with your girls. Her Campus Drexel is here for all the single ladies; enjoy these five ways to celebrate Galentine’s Day!

1. Hit the spa!

Whether you’re in the mood for manicures and pedicures or full body massages, a spa day is the perfect place to bring your girls to celebrate. Often times, we forget to take care of ourselves because of our busy college schedules, but take this one day to pamper yourself! So, sit back and let the professionals relax you with cucumber slices on your eyes, herbal oils, and a rejuvenating facial.

2. Bake yummy treats!

It doesn’t matter what occasion it is – baking is always fun, especially on Valentine’s Day! Break out the flour, chocolate chips, and sugar to whip up some warm and delicious cookies to share with friends. It can be a great way to bond and you can even have a contest to see who can come up with the most mouthwatering dessert!

3. Head to the club!

Thankfully Valentine’s Day falls on a weekend this year, so you have ample time to put on the shiniest dress you have, let your hair loose, perfect your contour, and make your way onto the dance floor! Use your fantastic flirting skills to pick up some cuties who will buy you a few drinks and willingly dance with you to “Single Ladies”!

4. Have a chick flick marathon!

Cuddle up next to your besties and pop in some of the best chick flicks for a movie marathon! Start off with a classic like The Notebook and add in a few more Nicholas Sparks films, such as The Last Song, Dear John, and Safe Haven to cry to. If you can’t have a real relationship, you can live vicariously through the couples in the films – without the heartbreak, tears, and fights, of course.

5. Trolling on Tinder!

Just for giggles, download the dating app and strike up a few conversations with some cuties! It doesn’t hurt to scope out the scene and exchange dialogue with some other singles. Have your friends think up some clever pickup lines to slide into your matches’ messages with and wait for replies back!

No matter what your relationship status, keep in mind that Valentine’s Day is all about love. It may be love for a SO or your besties, or maybe this V-Day you just focus on the relationship you have with yourself. You can’t truly love someone unless you learn how to #LoveYourself first. HCXO!
