I wouldn’t exactly call myself a city girl, since I come from the “meadows” of Las Vegas. I live pretty far away from the Strip, known to the locals as our Downtown area. I do, however, consider myself a semi-city girl- somewhere in the middle, not too extreme on either side, just a few different experiences here and there. Being in Denver, so close to the actual city atmosphere, is very exciting. I have only just begun to explore my new home, and I cannot wait for the new adventures that await!
I have never consistently ridden on public transportation in my lifetime, unless when I visit family outside of Vegas. The light rail is a new way to get around for me. It is so convenient, especially since I did not bring my car with me. I have easy access to a new city environment through super accessible public transportation, which opens up endless possibilities for exploring the beautiful sights of Denver! Coming from a desert, all the green trees and promise of snow is an exciting thought.
Trying new foods, even though it mi8ght not always go according to plan, is an activity that I always enjoy. Eating at different restaurants like Jelly Cafe, Chook, and Torchy’s Tacos is a lot of fun for my taste buds, and I am very eager to try many more food places!
Living close to a city environment means I can take part in many activities held downtown like the Sunday Farmers Mar5ket, which has amazing food!
This proper city environment, while far away from home, allows a semi-city girl like me to feel a little more at home. I am living a new adventure, simultaneously holding on to my “semi-city” girl roots.
