Spring semester already feels like it is going by too fast. Â It is important to slow down and remember that there are things that you should do before you leave Duke. Â Here are some ideas of things to do before the end of the semester to get you thinking:
1. Find a summer internship/job
Depending on your year in college, this could be working at a summer camp or finding an internship at that company you’ve always dreamed of working for.  This is the time that people are seeking out these opportunities, don’t leave it to the last minute, the positions may be taken.  It is important to do something productive with your summer, but don’t forget to make time for friends.
2. Go to office hours
This may sound like something that should only pertain to schoolwork, but it is important to be known by your professors. Â Gaining a good relationship with them is important for things such as recommendations and help with class, but becoming a frequent visitor to office hours will let your professor know how dedicated to the subject you are and will help them understand your learning style and better assist you.
3. Spend time with your friends
Many of your friends at Duke are probably not from your hometown, and you won’t be able to see them over the summer.  Spend time with the people that you will miss most.
Good luck with spring semester!
