In honor of Her Campus spreading to more UK campuses, here are some fashion trends from the streets of London that I picked up over Thanksgiving break.
1. Leather
What’s more chic than leather? Try a leather top with black leggings, or leather panelled leggings with a top for a different going out look. Kendall and Kylie Jenner both wore leather skirts to dress up their casual tops and make them edgier! If that seems too adventurous for you, try a leather jacket — not only will it keep you warm, but you can use it during the spring if you invest in a quality, fitted piece!Â

2. Statement Necklaces
I absolutely LOVE necklaces — they can make even the plainest outfits look interesting. If you want necklaces to wear during the day or for more casual looks, search for thin, long chains with simple pendants. For going out, the bigger the better! Try a mix of shorter necklaces to wear with a LBD, or a longer, more elaborate one to wear over a simple top, leggings, and heels. Forever 21 and Topshop have really good necklace selections. Make sure you have a necklace hanger or some way to store them so they don’t get knotted up!

3. Boots!
Because you can wear boots from September to early March, it’s definitely worth investing in more than one pair to change it up. Combat boots look great during the day with jeans, while leather boots are more formal and can be worn at night when you don’t feel like wearing heels. Also, don’t forget your rain boots — Hunter’s are not the only option! Online merchant Asos has a great collection of boots for every occasion.

4. Faux Fur
Faux fur is everywhere this season — from jackets to boot lining to accessories to keep you warm. Stick to browns, blacks, and whites for a more sophisticated look, and wear them with basic pieces so your outfit is not too overwhelming. Check out the Made in Chelsea cast in this trend below!
