This weeks Her Campus Duke’s celebrity is none other than Dolce Gasolina! After being rescued from a shelter in Dallas, TX last summer by Nikita Yogeshwarun (’15), Dolce has fit right into Duke, and is a member of both Kappa Kappa Gamma and Mundi.
Approximately 6 to 8 million animals pass through shelters in America each year, and unfortunately a large percentage of these animals are unable to find homes. Dolce is one of millions of dogs who was lucky enough to be rescued. She would like to encourage everyone looking for their campus cutie to look into adoption from rescues and shelters instead of buying. Dolce loves to go to the Nasher Museum for weekend brunches—she particularly loves huevos rancheros with extra cheese. Although she is not allowed into the exhibitions, she is an avid art enthusiast.
