Duke Eating Disorder Awareness Week started on February 25th, and continues until this Sunday March 3rd. The week is packed with film screenings, expert panels and discussion about the significant, but rarely discussed problem of eating disorders on Duke’s campus. The Duke Medical Center Eating Disorder’s Program, Develle Dish, DUWELL, CAPS, the Women’s Center, Student Health, and Panhel have all worked in collaboration to contribute the events of the week, which is headed by Her Campus Duke’s very own Taylor Turkeltaub. Stop by the photo exhibit on the upper floor of the Bryant Center, which depicts individual Duke students’ personal struggles with eating disorders, or check out any of the events listed below:
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 27:
4:30-9: Mirror, Mirror: Reflections on Body Image, Wilson Gym- mirrors in fitness room A will be covered.
8:30-10:30: ED Documentary, MTV True Life: I Have an Eating Disorder, Soc Sci 139- catered. representatives from CAPS will be present, and an open discussion will follow
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 28:
7-9: Dr. Nancy Zucker: When Eating and Body Issues Cross the Line
