Now that the sun has finally come out and the giant puddles around campus have finally started to go away, here are some things that you should do to take advantage of what is arguably some of the best weather we’ve had all year.
Sit outside
Now is literally a perfect time to check that stereotypical college thing to do off of your bucket list. Grab some friends and a blanket and sit in one of this campus’ many quads as you get your work done. Or say, like me, you get distracted too easily to actually be productive outside, get your lunch to go and find somewhere to sit in the great outdoors.Â
Wear shorts
Â
I know that everyone is getting really excited about fall and wearing comfy oversized sweaters and drink hot chocolate every day, but pull out your summer wardrobe one last time. Keep in mind that in just a few short weeks, shorts are going to be a thing of the past as the weather drops and every day becomes a leggings day. So find a warmer day this week and put on your favorite summer outfit if only to show it off one last time before it goes into a box until spring.
Walk Around
This is a great time to do some exploring that you’ve been meaning to do but haven’t gotten around to yet. Up until this point it has either been too hot or raining but now there are no excuses. Make that trip to the Duke Gardens and see what all is the fuss is about or go walk around Durham and take the time to figure out what makes it unique from your hometown.
Basically, whatever you do, make sure that you spend some time outside in these next few weeks and enjoy this semi-warm weather while it lasts. As October flies by, the days of tank tops and hanging out with friends outside are slowly coming to an end.  That’s okay though because in its place we get the perfect sweater and leggings weather.
