College girls lead busy lives. Between homework, class, working out and socializing, it doesn’t seem feasible to get it all done in a mere 24-hour period. Factor in sleep time and you can forget about it. But, let me assure you, that these few tips will help you shave some time off your day, leaving you with some *gasp* extra time to just relax. With the threat of the Freshman 15 always looming, college girls want to be sure to implement a daily workout regime into their days. But sometimes it’s hard to drag yourself out of the library when you have hours of work due the next day. My suggestion: read while you do cardio! Reading on the treadmill is tough, but the elliptical, exercise bike, and Stairmaster are all perfect candidates. Doing your reading while you work out allows you to kill two birds with one stone…what could be better?
One of the best timesaving techniques I have learned here at Duke is that you can do schoolwork pretty much anywhere. You have an hour between classes? No problem. Rather than wasting transportation time going to and from the library, you can walk towards your next class and find a nice, quiet spot to work. I personally love finding a shady bench outdoors. This way, you can work productively and efficiently right until a few minutes before your class starts.
To-do lists are one of the oldest tricks in the books, but there’s a reason they’re still around – they really are useful! Keeping track of everything you have left to do will actually help you save time. Think about it: the thought of crossing something off your list will motivate you to stop procrastinating and just do it. This makes the remaining items on your list seem more approachable and less overwhelming. To-do lists help you stay on track and save hours of time spent deciding what to do next (which usually leads to more procrastination).
