Year of Study: 2

Subject: Modern Languages – French & Spanish

College: Trevelyan

Personality: Vivacious, larger than life & a tad self-absorbed

Describe yourself in five words: Does not wash up enough.

Do you have a favourite spot in Durham?

Elvet Riverside 247. The new one that’s really hard to find.

Best chat up-line? Don’t worry; I’m pretty sure I’m straight.

Favourite drink? A shot of Sammy B, washed down with a double pint.

Describe a perfect evening date:

Hopefully ending in a kiss on the cheek, maybe lips if I’m feeling dirty.

If you were granted three wishes by a magical donkey, what would they be?

1. To never feel tired

2. To have a bit more empathy

3, To want to do things I should want to do.

If you were stuck on a desert island with one album what would it be?

A photo album of all the friends I had had to leave behind so I could cry myself to sleep every night.

What is your biggest pet peeve? I don’t like it when people smell like onions.

If you were compared to an animal, what would it be and why?

A camel. I don’t know why, people just say I would be a camel.

What is your favourite film?

Hmm… a close call between Shrek 4 and Ice Age 3. Such modern classics.

Guess what, your date is coming round for dinner, what are you going to cook her? A safe dish always goes down better than something complex…especially if it’s done wrong, so I’d have to say pesto on toast. Garlic pesto if she’s really something special.

What would we find in your fridge?

Hopefully you wouldn’t be looking through my fridge.

Song that best describes you?

‘Hello Little Girl’ – The Wolf from “Into the Woods”.

If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title would be?

Alex Prescot: a biography I wrote whilst in between jobs

Fitting epitaph on your gravestone?

Always tried a bit too hard to be funny.

Status? Taken.

Sorry ladies. This D’Olivier award winning BNOC is taken but if you want to catch him in action head down to DULOG’s performance of the Spelling Bee or let him razzle dazzle you at the Assembly Rooms in the Improvised Musical.

I am originally Australian, but spent most of my life in China at a British international school, so Durham Uni seemed like a natural extension. I’m secretly a qualified fitness instructor and would love to eventually teach classes in addition to working in the fields of journalism or law. I have a very diverse range of interests and will generally stick my head into anything as long as it doesn’t involve spiders! Ever since my debut in the Hungry Caterpillar, I’ve been drawn to the theatre so keep your eye out for my articles if you want to keep up with what’s going on in the performing arts scene at Durham! I joined Her Campus because it seems like a fantastic opportunity and launching platform for students to get involved in journalism at university. I love the diversity of the magazine, it’s link between American and British universities and hope to contribute to Durham’s growing chapter!
Hey! I am a second year student at Durham University studying Sociology and Anthropology. I love writing and spending time with people and so cannot wait to start a HerCampus Chapter at Durham.
