I hear you are a sweets over chocolate boy, and you and the sweety lady in the market place have a special relationship?

Oh yeah, it’s a very special relationship indeed! She knows me as Prince Harry (it was a way for her to remember my name…) and I know her, simply, as Margret. A wonderful lady who will always have a special place in my heart.

What’s another of your favourite things about Durham, and why?

The locals! They’ve always got something great to say. The caterers at John’s are a perfect example of this!

Can you tell us a bit about your band in John’s ?

Yeah, so we had an acoustic night not so long ago and a few of us shared the same hidden desire to be in a 90s boyband – i.e. suits with top buttons (no tie) done up and sleeves rolled half way. Perfect. Being a CU acoustic night and all being part of the CU we thought our name should be reflective of this, thus, the name The-No-Sex-Before-Marriage-Pistols seems an obvious choice. And it stuck!

John’s is known for being Christian but also quite a fun college, do you think that is important or all just part of the college spirit?

Part of the college spirit for sure. Contrary to popular belief, being a Christian isn’t a prerequisite for being in John’s!

Life motto?

Not ‘either, or’ but ‘both and more’ Or else borrow money from a pessimist, he won’t expect it back.

You’re walking down the road and meet a genie flying around, what would be your 3 wishes, and why?

1) To own a tamagotchi again… they were pretty cool

2) To have a constant supply of applewood

3) To speak every language in the world!

What would you like to say about being our campus cutie this week?

It is the highest honour I’ve ever received and it is already gone on my CV!

And what would you say to get people wanting to read Her Campus?

Regardless of whether you’re a guy or girl (although preferably girl… as it’s Her Campus…) Her Campus has got something for you!

Clare is a 2nd Year at St. Chad's College, Durham University, reading Theology. Home is split between a pad in London and house in Somerset where she went to school. She is actively involved in College sport especially rugby and rowing, and is on the Exec of the DUWIB (Durham University Women in Business) Society to promote women going into internships, grad schemes and finding paths into business for life after Uni. She is keen on marketing and business development and hopefully starting her own company in the years to come. She loves to travel and is lucky to have the opportunity to go across the world in her work with her family business. Favourites are drinks with the girls, running (Paris Marathon in April 2014), time with the family, weekends in London and dog walks in the country, and of course bar crawls in fancy dress around Durham.
Hey! I am a second year student at Durham University studying Sociology and Anthropology. I love writing and spending time with people and so cannot wait to start a HerCampus Chapter at Durham.
