Christmas may seem a century ago, but I am still enjoying the thrills of my new presents, among them the box set of the television series, Friends.
Â
For a long time this is something that I had hoped for, as apart from the odd episode here and there, I had never watched an entire series. I know, where have I been? Naturally, I knew about the famous Rachel Green haircut, Rossâ three failed marriages (he sure does love proposing), Joeyâs âhow you doin?â and Monicaâs tidiness and organisation (according to a quiz, I am most like Monica), but OH MY GOD, isnât it good?!
Â
Frankly, I love it, and upon telling a friend that I had received it, even she agreed that it is âthe best present everâ. The storyline and the development of the characters are intriguing to watch and I also admire the bonds of friendship between the six friends; they are very different individuals, yet together they are perfect. To an extent, it reminds me of the group of friends that I have made on my corridor in Durham, as although we are differing, we are still a close-knit group, who have many laughs and upheavals together.
The only slight problem is how addictive the episodes are, especially when academic commitments call. Watch one, watch them all!
A favourite episode so far is the birth of Emma and the confusion when Joey âproposesâ to Rachel with Rossâ ring. Ross is even unsure whether he proposed or not when he sees Rachel wearing the ring, and as he so rightly says âit does sound like something I would do.â
