I don’t know about you, but I am by no means a morning person. I set 8 alarms and wait till the very last minute to leave the warm embrace of my bed, so I am always looking for ways to make my mornings a better experience. After nearly 3 years of college, I have found several ways to make the morning a less terrible ordeal.
- Set your alarm and then put it out of reach to avoid hitting the snooze!
- Lay out your outfit the night before to avoid the struggle of finding clothes that match… and are clean.
- Pack your backpack the night before, and have your keys ready to go.
- Prepare your morning coffee: put your K-cup in the slot, or have your coffee pot ready so when you wake up in the morning you just press the button and go.
- Wake up just a bit earlier, and start your day with five minutes of yoga or meditation.
- Shower the night before, or use dry shampoo in the mornings for an easy hair pick me up.
- Start your day by making a gratitude list- write down a few things your are grateful for and keep it with you to look at when you’re going through a rough spot.
These simple morning hacks will make your day-to-day life not only easier, but make the rest of your day more enjoyable. You don’t need to ditch your night owl lifestyle, but hopefully this makes you think about the mornings in a better light!
