Pray for Nepal

Recently, an earthquake of 7.8 magnitude occurred less than 50 miles from Kathmandu, Nepal. The shocking force that struck Saturday has destructed homes, momentous buildings, and other places. CNN reports that 1,457 people are dead from authority findings. The injured victims have been treated in hospitals and many tourists are still in shock. Nepal’s Ministry of Home Affairs has reported the number of deaths occurred from the earthquake and it is said to increase as an estimate of 4.6 million people in the region were affected by the tragedy. In Nepal, about 30 out of 75 districts were affected and in Tibet, Nepal’s Northern neighbor, were many buildings collapsed. 12 victims were killed.

 

The earthquake struck on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at exactly 11:56 a.m. local time (2:11 a.m. ET). The depth was approximately 9.3 miles. “One person said he felt as if he were on a ship in rough seas.” So many people are in shock because they have never before felt an Earthquake this big and many people are still in search for the survivors. With the aftermath of the quake, there will be clothing, food and medicine provided immediately. “To the people in Nepal and the region affected by this tragedy we send our heartfelt sympathies,” Secretary of State John Kerry said in a statement. “The United States stands with you during this difficult time.” U.S. government is provided $1 million to help in any immediate assistant Nepal needs.
