In college I have noticed that guys come and go out of your life in a snap of a finger. In high school people use to say that about friends, but honestly I think that changes to boys in college. I have luckily managed to keep the same friends I met since I arrived my freshman year, boys on the other hand not so much.
My hair I always have felt like is a way to express my mood, the seasons, and when I am ready for a fresh start. In high school I kept my hair about the same length and got highlights every now and then; nothing extreme. I did occasionally switch it up but not that often. Ever since I have been in college it has been a completely different story. I have gone to great lengths to change the color of my hair. It is just the feeling of ending something and starting something new and great. Changing my hair is like a step in the right direction leaving the past behind me. It is the new hair new me mentality.
So, if you are going through a bad break up or your hook up just decided to stop texting you and you are kind of down in the dumps I suggest changing your hair. I have dyed my hair blonde, brown, ombré, purple, pink, you name it the color was probably on my head. It was this great, liberating thing to just be able to change my hair and feel brand new. If I did not want a drastic hair change I simply got a hair cut. Although, I will warn you once you start cutting and loving short hair you cannot stop. It is just the great feeling of making a spontaneous decision that will leave everyone talking about the new change.
I will suggest thinking a little harder if you are going to go drastic. When I dyed my hair purple, it was always in the back of my mind to do, so when I did it I loved it. But then I thought I could go a step further and dye my hair pink. In my head I thought, if I could pull off purple, I could pull off pink. Let’s just say I looked like a cotton candy head and it was soon dyed brown to cover it up.
My point though is hair is hair. There is nothing a darker dye, some time, or a purchase of hair extensions that can fix any hair problem. We are young and this is the time that we can change up our hair to whatever we want, and why not do it to start fresh. Even if it has nothing to do with a boy and you just feel like you are stuck in a rut, I really urge you to change up your hair. When you look good, you feel good.
