Coolidge Corner is a hidden gem in Brookline, MA. Not only is the community small enough to make you feel like you’ve escaped the fast-paced life of the city, but there’s actually so much to do. Coolidge Corner is the perfect place to spend a relaxing Saturday or Sunday and here’s why:
1. Brookline Booksmith
This independent bookstore has so much to offer for any type of reader. Its used book cellar is the perfect place to spend hours browsing the shelves before finding that one book that you wouldn’t expect to pick up but end up loving. The shop always hosts author events and book signings. In the past, people like Neil Patrick Harris and Mindy Kaling have been hosted there. The Booksmith even has a Boston souvenir section with tons of cute accessories and memorabilia! This is especially perfect for students studying far from home who want to send their families something Boston-related that is unique.Â
 2. Coolidge Corner Theatre
It’s across the street from the Booksmith, and there you can see those independent films that you may not find in mainstream theaters. They’re also always screening classics and fan favorites from the past. The architecture and design inside the theater is absolutely beautiful. There is nothing like picking up some organic popcorn and root beer and settling in the comfy chairs in the gold screening room for a bit of culture.
3. Food
The diversity in restaurants in Coolidge Corner means that there’s something for anyone. You can pick up a slice of pizza at Otto’s, eat Indian at Rani Bistro, or enjoy a gourmet meal at Regal Beagle. Stop by JP Licks for dessert and you’re set! Do you just want a cup of coffee and a pastry? There’s a Starbucks and a Peet’s Coffee a few steps away from each other. Take your pick, get a drink, find a table, open up your recently-bought Booksmith book, and enjoy!
4. ShopsÂ
From convenience and grocery stores like CVS and Trader Joes to novelty shops like Paper Source and Eureka!, Coolidge makes it easy to get what you need—and what you don’t need but really, really want.
