As innovators of communication, it’s no surprise that here at Emerson, we have a thriving social media presence. School administrators are constantly updating Emerson’s official Facebook and Twitter accounts with news, announcements, and opportunities. To learn about what is really going on at this school, however, it’s the student-run pages that hold the most knowledge. Pages like Emerson Confessional, Compliments, and Emerson Admirers let the student body anonymously post secrets and flirt with potential interests. There are also several spin-off humor pages, like Emerson Condiments and Emerson Passive Aggressive Compliments.
Emerson Compliments

This page is all about good vibes. Users can message this page a compliment they have for any fellow Emerson student, and the owners of the page will publish it anonymously and tag the compliment receiver in the post! It can be anything, from something as small as liking someone’s shirt, a fun event that you attended or just someone being a good friend! Compliments was created after a model for a social project that was started by students at Queen’s University.
Emerson Admirers
Like a little, step aside! If you are too afraid to tell someone on campus how you really feel about him or her, here is your chance. Gather some courage and write the love letter of the century. Like the other pages, you can message the owners of the page an admission of love and they will post it anonymously to the page. You can choose to tag your love interest, if you are brave, and hope that sparks fly!
Emerson Confessional
Emerson students can anonymously message the owners of this page a confession that they have been dying to get off their chest. This page is intended to be a safe space for members of our community to share anything and everything, from the smallest secrets to the most life changing. Friends of the page can then give advice, or offer a kind word or two to help the confessor sort through their problems. Some posts are serious, with topics ranging from sexual abuse and low self-esteem, while others are more humorous, like a recent confession of a student making good use of the last roll of toilet paper as revenge.
