What organizations are you involved with on campus? Â I am the Secretary of Emerson Dance Company and a sister of Alpha Epsilon Phi.
What is your favorite accomplishment at Emerson so far? Last semester I choreographed an advanced contemporary piece for Emerson Dance Company. Though I had choreographed many times before, it was my first time having incredibly strong dancers to work with and I put immense pressure on myself to create a piece that was not only physically athletic and challenging but would make the audience feel, if that makes sense. Being onstage performing my own choreography was an unforgettable feeling and I am very thankful for the hard work my dancers gave every step of the way. My next project is assistant choreographing this year’s Evvys award show and I couldn’t be more excited!
Favorite quote: Do not let the behavior of others disturb your inner peace.
Favorite TV show: The Office, Sex and the City, and anything Lisa Ling produces . . . and I am ALWAYS down for Roseanne reruns.
Favorite movie: Gone with the Wind (also my favorite book), and Little Miss Sunshine. Â
Favorite candy: Juicy Pear Jelly Bellies . . . typically eaten by the handful . . . Â
Favorite childhood memory: My brother Jaron and I spent so much of our childhood at our grandparents’ house. Our parents were working full time and having that extra support was so special because my brother and I were always taken care of and loved. I’ll never forget how my Mama would let me help her in the kitchen and when my Papa would hold my hand as we went for walks around the neighborhood. I would do anything to see my Papa again and have those days!
Favorite place in Boston: I love the Public Garden. My perfect day would include reading a great book there under a tree for as much time as I want.
Celebrity crush: Channing Tatum (he’s cute AND can dance).
Describe yourself in three words: Compassionate, driven, and optimistic.
