Midterms are in full swing right now, and I can tell that everyone is feeling the pressure. I myself have spent a few nights this past week awake into the wee hours of the morning cramming for a test. It’s really important during stressful times like these to stay both mentally and physically healthy in order to ace those papers and test. Here are five tips on how to do just that, using some midterms essentials from our HC Back to School Survival Kit!
1. Create a relaxing environment for yourself to study in. Find your happy place on campus, and go there to hit the books. Surround yourself with things that make you comfortable while you’re there too. Whether that place be your room, the library, or the JYC, bring a blanket, snacks, and other things that will allow you to relax and study peacefully. Preparing a nice cup of tea with the delicious sweetness of Zing™ Zero Calorie Stevia Sweetener could be just what you need to remember those algebra theorems!
2. Treat yourself to some pamper time. My motto has always been, “When you look, you feel good.” I’m not saying you need to ditch your yogas and cozy cardigan, but try putting a little effort into your hair and makeup. You’ll instantly feel better! Try using TRESemme’s new Perfectly (un)Done Sea Salt Spray, or their Perfectly (un)Done Wave Creation Sea Foam, for effortless, bouncy waves that will put you in a great mood. A quick swipe of NYC New York Color City Proof 24HR Waterproof Eyeshadow on your eyes and you’ll be ready to take on your midterms in style!
3. Eat! Don’t skip meals or deprive yourself of food to cram for a test. Feeling hungry will only distract you. Instead, head to Chipotle for a study break and a delicious, non-GMO meal. Better yet, use a Chipotle BOGO card to pick up something to eat now, and something for later! That way, when you’re in the middle of a big paper, you won’t have to go back out for food. Hooray for free food!
4. Protect yourself from getting sick. The last thing anyone needs is to have a runny nose while taking a midterm. Take preventative measures by getting lots of sleep, washing your hands often, and staying hydrated. If you do feel something coming on, be sure to take some Cold-Eeze to relieve your symptoms long enough for you to focus on your work. If you really want to avoid getting sick, just do as Sheldon Cooper does…
5. Stay energized. Falling asleep at your desk? Give yourself a break and get moving! Take a quick walk, do some jumping jacks, or have a mini dance party. This will get your heart pumping, blood flowing, and brain moving. If you’re still nodding off to sleep after that, grab a shot of 5-Hour Energy to give you that extra boost for a quick cram session. Just remember, these should be your last resort, as natural energy is always better for your body. But a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do, right?
