A Senior Send-Off for the Her Campus Emmanuel’s number one general member. Keep reading to hear about her times with HCE, advice for fellow Emmanuel students and some memories about Emmanuel College!
Name: Amanda Perez
Major: Secondary Education & English
Dream Job: Middle school English teacher
Favorite Emmanuel Class: Adolescent Psychology
Favorite Thing to do in Boston: Going to the aquarium/zoo
HCE: Tell us a little about your history with Her Campus!
Amanda: I have been involved with Her Campus for a year and a half now! I love writing articles about anything that I find interesting. It is a creative space for me to enjoy my innovative writing, which I don’t normally get to do in my English classes.
HCE: What has been your favorite part of being a part of the HCE team?
Amanda: It has been so much fun being able to spend time with friends, getting to meet new people, and write creatively!
HCE: Favorite Her Campus event?
Amanda: This past July, I went to “Her Confess”. I learned so much about networking, social media, and more! It was an amazing opportunity to go to NYC with my Her Campus friends and learn how to better your career/social media. I met one of my favorite people from the popular show, “The Bachelor”, Caila Quinn. I learned a lot from her and she was nice enough to take a picture with me!
HCE: What is something that you can’t believe happened this year?
Amanda: I met seven famous people… which is just crazy to me! Most of them are from the show “The Bachelor”, but they are still famous in my book.
HCE: What have been some of your favorite moments and memories at Emmanuel?
Amanda: I love campus events like bingo, trivia, or when they have performers like comedians come in. Our freshman year they had one guy from girl code come in and he was so funny! Anything that I can do with my friends is always the best.
HCE: What are you most thankful for?
Amanda: I am most thankful for my amazing family and friends. They have pushed me to do my best, even when I thought I couldn’t go any further. I have met so many new amazing people this year in and outside Emmanuel that I am extremely grateful for.
HCE: I know it’s slightly anxiety-inducing, but any plans for after you graduate?
Amanda: I hope to settle down in Boston for the fall and have a teaching job at the middle school.
HCE: Do you have any advice or anything you would want to say to freshman Amanda?
Amanda: As cheesy as it sounds, I would say that everything is going to be ok. You will lose some friends, but make even better ones. You will go through many challenges, but end up overcoming all of them! Everything happens for a reason, don’t let people who can’t see how amazing you are change you.
Thank you so much for everything you’ve done with HCE! We have absolutely loved having you apart of our team this year. Good luck with everything in the future, we know you’re bound for great things. We’re going to miss you too much! HCXO
