On February 20th, I went to see a movie called Marry Me. The cast consists of Maluma as Bastian, Jennifer Lopez as Kat Valdez, and Owen Wilson as Charlie GIlbert. I’ll give a summary, but I recommend watching it on Peacock. Basically, it starts with singers Bastian and Kat Valdez planning to become husband and wife during a concert and perform their song “Marry Me.” Meanwhile, Charlie gets dragged to the concert by his friend Parker and his daughter. Soon, the day of the wedding comes. But, just when they were ready to get married, everyone, including Kat, finds out that Bastian cheated on her with her assistant! From there, she sees Charlie with a sign that says “Marry Me” and she ends up picking him and marrying him instead. The problem is, they don’t really know each other, but they do their best to make it work out. That is until Bastian shows up with some news regarding him and Kat which could get in the way of her marriage. But I won’t spoil it any further.

Here are my thoughts regarding the movie: the first part of the movie definitely felt rushed. It seemed like there were a lot of deleted scenes that were probably worth keeping. But as we got more and more into the film, it started smoothing out. I loved the ending with Kat and Charlie realizing that they really do fit together. I even knew some of the cast members before this movie. I’ve heard of Jennifer Lopez and listened to a couple of her songs. I didn’t know Owen Wilson that well until Marry Me. Personally, I only went to see the film for Maluma. If you don’t know, he’s a Colombian singer and he’s collaborated with Madonna and Ricky Martin in the past. I would definitely love to see him do more acting; he did a great job as Bastian.

Those are my thoughts and summary on Marry Me. I recommend seeing it for those who haven’t just yet.
