Karly Buckenmaier is a senior who is graduating in May from Emmanuel College! She has been part of Her Campus since freshman year, making her a loyal member to our Emmanuel chapter. The Emmanuel College Her Campus would love to highlight the student she is from the past four years at Emmanuel College!
Karly majored in Communications and minored in Writing and Marketing while she was a student at Emmanuel College. She decided she wanted to major in Communications because of the broad opportunities that it allows for people to participate in. She recalls the amazing jobs that she learned she could enter with her major: advertising, PR, writing, marketing and so much more. Karly loved the idea of having options and not being stuck to one occupation, since it takes time to figure out what it is we want to exactly do in life. She later on decided on her two minors, Writing and Marketing, because they aligned with her career goals and as well as her major. It was a perfect fit because she is a very creative person!
Throughout Karlyā€™s four years being involved with Her Campus, she has had various roles! At first she was a general member for Emmanuel Colleges chapter of Her Campus. Her senior year she decided that she wanted to be the treasurer for the e-board. Karly explained that she has always wanted to be on the board so that she could be someone for underclassmen to look to, just like she did years ago. She loves meeting people and helping out, so she absolutely loved being on the e-board. Karly loves the organization as well, so it has been amazing being able to help plan events and create friendships with other board members, she explained.Ā
Karlyā€™s favorite part about Her Campus are the people and the support. She discussed that the people in Her Campus have created such a supportive environment for her as a writer as well as a friend. She said it is exciting being able to have a source for a creative outlet and having a place where hard work is published. She really enjoyed knowing that people were reading her pieces and that she was making an impact on others with what they read.Ā
As Karly graduates from Emmanuel College, she plans to continue to live in Boston. She hopes to work in marketing, advertising, or sales in the future. With her fantastic experience in communications and her delectable reads from Her Campus, the e-board knows she will continue to strive after college! Congratulations Karly and good luck!
