Just picture this scenario: your parents came to visit this weekend. You took them to dinner, (or rather, you drove them and they paid) and you drop them back at the hotel. They’re like, “OK, cool, see you in the morning for brunch!” You’re like, “Yeah, yeah, sounds good… 9 AM at Flying Biscuit? Totally fine, I’m not going out or anything tonight…”

Psyche. You go out. When that inevitable alarm goes off at 8:30 in the wee hours of the morning and you realize there’s absolutely no way you’re getting your happy butt out of bed to shower and get dressed, what is acceptable attire? You need to have something easy that you can always throw on and it’s going to make your outfit immediately less “I can’t see three feet in front of me” and more “I’m like, casual chic and comfy cool and stuff.”

Last week my delightful Campus Style Co-Editor Alex Lowe reminded us that it’s time to pull out the boots. I’m here to present your favorite black riding boots in a new way–because I’ve seen this a couple times on campus lately and I’m here to tell you that it’s perfectly OK!

How about wearing my black riding boots with leggings and my srat sweatshirt you ask? Yes, and that’s exactly what senior Clare Mullins did this morning when she rolled out of her groggy slumber and trudged off to breakfast with her lovely, un-hungover, happy parents.

She also pulled out some of her favorite boots to show me, and says she has a pair for every occasion.

It’s about to get cold–so pull out those sweaters and boots! Leggings with a little fleece lining can’t hurt either!

Fall and winter are the best times to sport a comfy casual look…and you can never go wrong with a pair of tall black boots!
