According to the Times, Google glasses will be on sale by the end of this year. Yes, the Internet phenomenon is now
moving into accessories. The sci-fi glasses are modeled after Oakley Thumps, which are the definition of futuristic cool… if you’re in the Matrix. I would prefer them to look like a Lady Gaga invention, but some may argue that Google’s look is more practical. But moving on from their aesthetic value, what do these glasses do? The Android-based shades will “be able to stream information to the wearer’s eyeballs in real time.” They will have a navigation system, a camera and monitor, a location device, and Internet access. Supposedly, you will be able to check into your location from the glasses and share what you are seeing on the web. Pretty cool…and creepy. Â
