Statement Jewelry

Statement jewelry has made a huge impact on the fashion world in the past couple of years. Many people first questioned the large necklaces, chunky bracelets, and oversized rings; however, it soon became apparent that these pieces were fun, glamorous, and trendy! They may seem to be too much, but when you compare an outfit with no jewelry at all to an outfit with a statement piece – it is clear how much every outfit becomes more chic. Statement necklaces can dress up an outfit in a pinch if you are in a rush out the door, and fun bracelets are easy to blend in to a more casual or dressy look. Now, brands such as J. Crew/ J. Crew Factory, Loren Hope, and Anthropologie are always coming out with great pieces in so many different colors.

This J. Crew “Crystal Venus Flytrap Necklace” is the perfect first piece to purchase. It isn’t overwhelming in size, and it can be paired with just about anything: a simple black dress, a t-shirt of any color, or a sweater. Also, this necklace is great for going out, it gives just a little something “extra.”

My current favorite is Bauble Bar – they have everything from monogram pieces to earrings to travel cases. Additionally, one of my favorite aspects of this new line is some of the more classic pieces they offer. Also, the website gives awesome suggestions for wearing their jewelry for a variety of different events. From brunch to date night, they have it all.

Add a touch of mint! This color is also great for the transition from winter to spring. This time in between seasons is always difficult, but adding this necklace to a darker colored outfit makes everything much easier!

Throwing long/ layered necklaces onto a daytime look definitely brings the outfit to the next level. Try pairing this with jeans, a simple top, and a long sweater!
