In honor of Rihanna delivering the nation one of the best halftime show performances in history, here are five artists I believe would own the stage just as much as she did.
- Ariana Grande
Are you really going to try and tell me that Miss Grande doesn’t deserve a half time show? Just imagine her opening the show up with her hit song, “God is a Woman.” She would absolutely kill all 13 minutes of the performance, leaving every jaw of every viewer completely dropped. I would imagine that she would play songs from multiple albums, including her old classics and her newer hit tunes. The Super Bowl halftime show is just the next logical step in her quest for world domination, and I’m absolutely here for it.To be frank, she would slay.
- Ke$ha
Specifically, old Ke$ha. I am an absolute Ke$ha stan, and I believe, with no doubt, that she would kill a halftime show with her old music. She has multiple upbeat pop songs that thousands of individuals know and love. Whether she sings “TiK ToK” or “Your Love is My Drug,” she would own the stage with the best attitude.
- Taylor Swift
I mean, duh. Whether you love her or hate her, anyone can admit that Swift is one of the biggest stars of our generation. With all of her fabulous collaborations, just imagine what guests she’d be able to get on a Super Bowl stage with her. Furthermore, Swift sings so many genres well, she would perform songs that appeal to everyone. She has so much content to pull from, and would absolutely dominate the stage.
- Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber has been a household name for years…it’s about time he headlines a Super Bowl halftime show of his own! Like Swift, he has years worth of experience and content to draw upon for a performance. Between his new and old music, Bieber has released many songs that reach the top of the charts. He is an energetic performer, and I am sure his fans would be happy to watch him perform for 15 minutes consecutively.
- Elton John
I am genuinely shocked that Elton John has never performed a halftime show. He is undoubtedly a main contributor to the development and evolution of pop culture, and therefore should have a halftime performance in his resume. He is flamboyant, dramatic, and energetic… traits a halftime headliner needs to have! Just imagine the bedazzled suit and grand piano possibilities! Between his old classics and his newer music, he would deliver a breathtaking show.
