The 6 Best Makeup Products for a College Girl on a Budget
By Riley Jenson
L’Oréal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara
This mascara my absolute favorite. It goes on well, doesn’t really clump together, and it really makes your lashes look longer and fuller. I also love how easy this mascara is to take off. It doesn’t smudge all over like other brands I’ve used in the past. It comes off with one sweep of micellar water. This mascara is definitely a go-to and it’s only $10 and you can find it pretty much anywhere.
CoverGirl Ready Set Gorgeous Concealer
I love this concealer becomes it goes on smooth and has great coverage. I use this product under my eyes, to cover up blemishes, and sometimes as a foundation-type of coverage for redness on my face. The concealer comes in six different shades, and its packaging is perfect and compact. This concealer is about $6.
e.l.f Lip Plumping Gloss
I don’t usually wear lipstick, so when I want to take my look a step further than my Burts Bees or Carmex, this is my go to gloss. This lip gloss isn’t gummy, and it doesn’t totally dry out my lips. It has the perfect amount of shine, and the plumping formula makes your lips cold and tingly. It’s only $5 and seems to last forever.
Almay Shadow Squad
I first discovered this product through Her Campus, and I love it. The eyeshadow is really pigmented and stays on all day. Each palette comes with four different color variations; one is always matte and one is always glittery. My two favorite palettes are called Unicorn and Ambition. You can find these palettes for about $7 at Ulta or Target.
EcoTools Brushes
These have always been my favorite makeup brushes. They are affordable and good quality. I love that they eyeshadow brushes are double-sided. These brushes come in a ton of different sets, but I would recommend the Start the Day Beautifully Kit. It comes with three eyeshadow brushes and two face brushes. You can find this set for about $12.
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder
This product is super affordable, lasts forever, and comes in a bunch of different shades. I will use this powder on days that I need a little more coverage. I’ll also use it on top of my concealer to hide my dark circles. This powder usually goes for $5.
