Healthy, Cruelty Free & All-Natural Makeup Products You NEED

By Lisamarie Demerjian

Uh-oh, you overslept and have a 8 a.m. You throw on your cute high waisted shorts with a crop top and a denim jacket. The only problem is people can tell you just woke up.

Girls, don’t just wake up and put any type of makeup on your face. It’s the worst possible thing you can do. It makes your face and skin feel heavier and it appears “cakey.”

When I have time in the morning, I usually “bake” my face but sometimes I just don’t feel like putting in the time and effort to go through all the steps. A girl needs her sleep… you know. The occasional time I like to put on these few essentials and I feel good to know I have natural and healthy products on my skin. Here are some of my makeup hacks.

  1. Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder

I can assume most girls on the EC campus have this make up essential. Am I wrong? I’ve done some investigating on this powder and there is nothing I have found saying it’s an all natural brand nor powder. But I still use it because it does a fantastic job setting my makeup. A nice thing about this makeup is I can actually pronounce all the ingredients so that’s a plus. If you want to remain all natural and animal-cruelty free, look at the setting powder coming up!

  1. The Honest Company Invisible Blurring Loose Powder

Here is a powder that is cruelty free AND you can pronounce all the ingredients. I’ve never used this particular Honest product but I am in love with their lip colors and balms. You can find this brand in some stores but definitely check online first for special deals and use the online store locator.

  1. EcoTools’ Powder Brush

This brush is very reasonable for the wallet and the results are fabulous. EcoTools’ is cruelty free, the handles are made from bamboo and created from other natural products. It blends the powder perfectly.

  1. Burt’s Bees 100% Natural Mattifying Powder Foundation

Ladies this is my go to! The pros of wearing Burt’s Bee is it’s 98.9% natural, cruelty free according to Business Insider (Janine Clements, 2018) and light. Burt’s Bees products are usually made out of honey, agave, cocoa butter, shea butter, almonds and so much more. This powder foundation smooths blends in well after I use the loose powder. The best part, most places sell the “college affordable” brand but some items do need to be ordered online :(

  1. Burt’s Bees 100% Natural Nourishing Mascara

This mascara really makes my eyes pop! There is no smudging or clumping and the greatest part it stays on all day. What is a better way to start the day?

  1. Burt’s Bees 100% Natural Nourishing Eyeliner

This product is a little tricky to find in stores so make sure to use the store/product locator. It’s an easy to apply and it goes on smoothly.

  1. e.l.f. Lip Plumping Gloss

This gloss provides me with the right amount of plump and makes my lips a nice champagne color. A few seconds after application, I do feel a slight tingle… which is normal. e.l.f can be purchased at many stores.
