Should I do an Internship? The answer is yes, luckily Endicott requires its students to do three separate internships before they graduate. As a college student who is taking part in internships, this sets you apart from other college students when applying for jobs after graduation. Taking part in internships demonstrates that you have drive, experience, and take interest in your major. A lot of individuals assume that doing internships is only helpful for Business and Hospitality students, this is false! Internships are helpful in every major, it gives you a preview of what you will be doing at possible jobs for the rest of your life. These previews are helpful because it allows you to see what you want to do with your future. If you don’t like the internship you partake in, it gives you further perspective into what you would like to do with your life. It also gives you the opportunity to switch your major if the place you interned wasn’t what you expected. As a student has completed four internships so far in college I would recommend it to anyone who asked. It not only gives you experience but it is a great networking opportunity to meet established individuals in your field of study. These individuals can offer further insight into your major or even offer advice as to how they handled college, and the search for a job afterwards. These connections could also help you land a job after college. My advice to all college students, do at least one internship over your college career. I know I truly loved my last internship and I can’t wait to be back with them for the summer.Â
