A To-Do List that will make your fall season the best yet!

Fall Food Favorites to Try:

  • Apple Cider Donuts (must have!)

A donut coated with a signature cinnamon-sugar mixture. It’s a nostalgic snack with a distinct apple flavor that will always remind you of fall.

  • Caramelized Apples

An apple of your choice coated in rich caramel. This sweet treat is a fall classic that has been passed down as a fall tradition for generations.

  • Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte

This drink was newly introduced to me and let me tell you, it’s quite literally fall in a drink. Every sip is full of cinnamon and pumpkin spice. You can find it at your local Starbucks!

  • Apple Crisp

A warm piece of apple crisp with a scoop of vanilla ice cream can never go wrong. I remember growing up eating apple crisp every Thanksgiving. It’s nostalgic and comforting.

  • Pumpkin Bread

A spice filled loaf that is a perfect breakfast snack. It’s full of pumpkin tang and offers a bit of sweet and spice.

  • Apple Cider

I mean, come on? Apple cider is a classic fall drink. It’s a sweet and tart beverage that you can drink both warm and cold. If you’re not drinking apple cider during the fall, what are you doing?

Go-to Fall Fashion:

  • Bootleg Jeans

Once popular in the late 1990’s, bootleg jeans have come back in style. Not only do these jeans provide warmth, but they are stylish and flattering. A must need in your fall wardrobe.

  • Flannels

The flannel is a classic fall fashion favorite. There’s so many patterns and colors to fit whatever type of outfit you’re rocking.

  • Uggs or boots

Boots are a stylish and iconic fall fashion item. The colors available like brown, tan, burgundy and black complement the fall color palette.

  • Vests

I’ll be the first one to say that fall is vest season! It’s perfect for layering and fits with the autumn weather.

  • Cardigans

Cardigans offer a feeling of comfort on a crisp fall day. There’s a variety of colors that will suit your individual style.

Must Have Outdoor Decor:

  • Assorted Gourds

A bag of assorted gourds is a fast and simple way to spice up your fall table centerpiece or outdoor decor. You can put them on stair steps or within a basket outside for a cute fall aesthetic.

  • Hay

I love decorative hay bales. It may sound like a big mess, but you can buy small straw hale bales at your local Home Depot. It’s an iconic symbol of fall and can be used creatively to create a fun porch or lamppost decor.

  • Corn Stalk

Corn stalk can also go hand-in-hand with the hay bales. I would suggest tying them to a lamppost or onto your front porch for the full effect. It’s a natural way to celebrate the fall season.

  • Pumpkins

I love, love, love pumpkins. You can carve them, paint them, bake them, turn them into a lantern, etc. There are unlimited creative opportunities.

  • Multi-colored Mums

Mums, also known as Chrysanthemums, are a signature fall flower. They come in many beautiful colors and combinations that will make your outdoor area delightfully fall.

  • Wreath

You need to have a fun fall wreath on your door. It’s just mandatory. Enough said :)

  • Scare Crow

The scare crow will always be an endearing decoration. Their history of use on farms makes them a symbol of harvest. They’ve also been used for spooky purposes within many horror movies.

Must Have Indoor Decor:

  • Candles (i.e Yankee Candle Pumpkin Spice)

If you don’t buy candles from Yankee Candle, then I don’t know what you’re doing. Candles not only smell nice but create a cozy atmosphere. They are a must need in your home for any season, not just fall.

  • Light up pumpkins

Little light up pumpkins are so cute. I would suggest you buy them with warm lights to make them feel cozier.

  • Fall Garland

Most would think of a garland as being associated with Christmas. But I love a leaf-filled garland. It looks great on a mantle or wrapped around a railing.

  • Fall Signage

A “hello fall” sign or “fall is coming” sign always adds a little cuteness to your home.

  • Fall Decorative Pillows

I love pillows for any season. They never fail to bring together a room of decor.

  • Scented Soaps

Not only do scented soaps make your home smell nice, but they offer a comforting autumn smell. One of my personal favorites is spiced apple or acorn.

Must Watch Movies:

  • Halloweentown

This movie is a family favorite. It follows the adventure of Marnie Piper, a teenager girl who finds out she comes from a long line of witches. Her grandmother, a powerful witch, introduces her to a mysterious realm called Halloweentown, who’s inhabitants are all supernatural creatures.

  • Hocus Pocus

My all-time favorite Halloween movie. I watch it ever fall, and if you haven’t you need to. It follows the adventure of 3 kids from Salem who light the black flamed candle and bring 3 witches, the Sanderson sisters back from the dead. The need to hide the witches spell book so they can’t use it to steal the lives of all the children of Salem.

  • Girl vs. Monster

A Disney Channel classic. The music in this movie first of all, is quite catchy. The movie follows the life of Skylar, a teenage girl who discovers she’s a fifth-generation monster hunter on the eve of Halloween.

  • The Haunted Mansion (2003)

I remember watching this as a kid. It focuses on the importance of family. Jim Evers is a real estate agent and while looking for a new home to sell, him and his family stumble across a haunted mansion last owned by the Edward Gracey. After exploring the mansion, they become tied to the mansion by the Gracey family curse. The family has to work together to break the curse.

  • Beetlejuice

Another Halloween classic movie. Beetlejuice focuses on the story of a couple who become ghosts in their own home. In hopes to gain their home back, they summon Beetlejuice, a ghost. However, Beetlejuice begins to wreak havoc on the living world.

Music To Get You in the Fall Mood:

  • Thriller – Micheal Jackson (Halloween)

A Halloween song classic. You’ve probably heard this song in every Halloween commercial ever. It never gets old, and I look forward to hearing it every fall season.

  • Monster Mash – Bobby “Boris” Pickett (Halloween)

It is a graveyard smash!! This song is the ideal Halloween single. I’ve listened to it since I was a little girl.

  • This is Halloween – Danny Elfman (Halloween)

Many people may recognize this song from the iconic movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas. It’s a great song to get you into the Halloween spirit.

  • The Color Violet – Tory Lanez

This song is perfect to listen to in the fall rain. Light some candles and get under a nice warm blanket.

  • The Night We Met – Lord Huron

This song is riding with the windows down during the evening in the fall. It’s so nostalgic and gives all the feelings of fall.

  • Earth, Wind & Fire – September

The perfect song to get you in a happy September mood. I personally hate the month of September, but this song is what makes me love it.

  • We Fell in Love in October – Girl in Red

This song is running through leaves with your friends and enjoying the crisp fall air. It’s having late night talks in front of the fire.

  • Sweater Weather – The Neighborhood

The feeling of being in love in the fall. Of having someone to keep you warm during the chilly season.
