Wednesday, March 8th, was International Women’s Day. This is a day that’s only celebrated once a year. This is a list of the things that I did for myself on this day as a young woman who is busy as a full time college student.
I began the day by waking up and making my bed. This was a good way to start my day and to make sure that my room was clean. I like making my bed in the morning because it then prevents me from getting back into it later on when I am hanging out in my dorm.Â
After I made my bed, I got ready for the day. I did my skincare routine and did my makeup. Doing this made me feel more put together and ready to conquer the day.
Since International Women’s Day was on a Wednesday this year, I still had to go to classes. Luckily, my first class was online at 9 AM so I attended via Zoom. I made myself a cup of coffee and drank it while I was in class. Once my 9 AM class was over, I prepared to go to my 11 AM class. I packed my bag and then called my parents to talk to them for a little bit. It was nice to catch up with them.
After my 11 AM class, I went to The Lodge with one of my friends and got lunch. We ate it back in my room and played music as we ate. Once my friend left, I did homework and prepared for my final class of the day.Â
Once I was done with my classes for the day I went back to my room and took a nap. I was tired and knew that it would be good for me to get some rest. After my nap, I got up and did some more homework before preparing to go to dinner with one of my friends. Dinner was good. In fact, the dining hall tried to make food from all over the world to honor the fact that it was International Women’s Day.Â
Later on in the evening ,it was time to go to Her Campus. For me, Her Campus is a great way to de-stress and meet new people. Speaking of new people, I met a new friend that I immediately clicked with.Â
Overall, the day was really good and I made an effort to make time for myself on such an important day.
