What with meeting new friends, joining societies and trying to find your way around campus, there’s little time to make sure you’re always looking your best. Therefore Her Campus Exeter have devised a selection of  10 minute makeover routines as a go-to guide for when you’re short on time, but still need to impress the Campus Cuties! From a post-night out routine, to your everyday lecture looks, there’s a routine for every student need.

Gym

So you get to the gym and start slaving away on the treadmill and who do you see when you’re red-faced and sweaty? The hot guy who is in your tutorial class of course!

To avoid this embarrassment, we suggest very light make-up to give you some coverage. For a natural make-up look, use a tinted moisturiser such as the amazing Laura Mercier product (£20.00). This will cover any blemishes without plastering thick foundation on, which will only sweat off later! To keep your lips looking plumped and kissable, try a lip stain from Topshop (£7.00) which will most certainly stay put for your entire workout.

For a sleek hair style, try sweeping it into a high ponytail and accessorising with a braided headband.

Lectures

Maybe you’re a late riser or perhaps the cheesy tunes from Arena were too much for you to resist! Either way, you’ve ended up rushing to your 9am lecture. Don’t panic! Her Campus have a great go-to look for those painful early morning classes.

Grab a BB cream to cover a multitude of sins, as these are easy to apply and there’s no need to fuss around with foundation brushes! Next, add a touch of concealer under the eyes to eradicate any dark circles and any evidence of too much fun. Finally add a quick sweep of mascara and a tinted lip balm such as the MAC lip conditioner in Petting Pink ( a Her Campus favourite at £14) and voila, you are ready for the day!

Night Out

When you’ve rushed home from lectures to get ready for the impending sports social, the last thing you want to stress about is your make-up routine when you’ve got a fantastic fancy dress outfit to fashion! Therefore we have put together the essential make-up routine for your night out- be it Arena, Mosaic or the legendary TP.

For a quick base, sweep on an illuminating foundation, such as Max Factor’s 3 in 1 Flawless Foundation (£11.99) which is perfect as it primes and conceals whilst providing you with a perfect coverage. Next thicken your lashes with mascara and a cat-like flick of eyeliner using Rimmel’s Scandaleyes (£5.49) to give you a flirty look. With a sweep of MAC lipstick in your favourite shade (we recommend Ruby Woo at £15) you are set for your approaching night of fun.

After a Night Out

Possibly the most important ten minute makeover of them all is saved for when you need to clean your face at 3am, when you’ve just stumbled home from The Lemmy on a Saturday night.

It’s so important to remove all your make-up before you go to sleep, as it allows your skin to breathe from the impurities and dirt you have accumulated during the day and night. Studies have shown that sleeping with your make-up on regularly accelerates the ageing process, as pollutants break down the collagen and elastin in your skin, which you need in order to have a youthful complexion. As well as this, it’s so much nicer to wake up feeling fresh-faced the next day.

Use a cleanser, toner and moisturiser on your skin as these three are the best combination to remove your make-up and hydrate tired skin. We suggest the Simple range, which is easily purchased from Boots at a price range of £3- £8, and they are great for sensitive skin.  If using three different products is too much for you, there are many face wipes that cleanse and tone in one, such as Nivea Refreshing Face Wipes (£6.95), but be sure to follow up with a moisturiser to keep your skin supple.

Olivia Wilkerson is a third year Business Economics student and is very excited to take up her role as Fashion and Beauty Deputy Editor of Her Campus Exeter this year! Alongside her degree, she loves catching up with the latest trends by reading numerous magazines and blogs and uses this as inspiration for her own fashion and fitness blog which she has recently started. Fitness is important to her, so you may see her down the local gym working a sweat or at the local health food store (there's a great one on Well Street!) buying lots of lovely treats! This summer, Olivia will be going to the South of France to relax and scout out the St Tropez style icons as well as braving the potentially incredibly muddy fields of Glastonbury! As she is studying Spanish as part of her degree, she is also aiming to undertake an intensive course in Barcelona for a week, before returning to Exeter to study hard for third year! She hopes that working for Her Campus Exeter will allow her to meet lots of wonderful like-minded girls and to further develop HCX to make it the best it can be.
