With the festivities of Christmas drifting further into the distance, our minds have turned to dreaming of that next amazing escape abroad as we study stare out of the windows of the library. Here are a few of the destinations we’re wishing we could hop on a plane and visit this second.

Cappadocia, Turkey
Â
Floating above the Fairy Chimneys and amazing landscape of Cappadocia and taking in the breath-taking scenery sounds like a once in a lifetime experience, placing the hot air balloon tours over this region high on our travel lust-list. Houses and temples built into the rocks and underground cities make this sound like a great cultural getaway.

Iceland’s Blue Lagoon
Soaking up the heat of a thermal bath whilst the air is still crisp and cold is a truly amazing feeling, and where better to experience this than in Iceland’s magical Blue Lagoon? Originating 2,000m below the surface, the natural geothermal water rests between 37 – 40oC, and renews itself every 40 hours. The stunning blue colour and gorgeous surroundings make it look like a fairy tale setting, and the water even has benefits for the skin…what more could you want?! The Islands of Thailand
For those times when you’ve forgotten what it feels like to be warm under the sun, Thailand is firmly placed on our wishlist. For a tranquil getaway just a stone’s throw away from bustling Bangkok, the gorgeous island of Koh Samet is the perfect choice. For diving, head to Koh Tao, where you’ll find multiple companies offering to take you out to explore the sea, whilst Koh Pah-Ngan – home to the world famous full moon parties – is just a short boat ride away.

Morocco

Â
Kruger National Park
Catching a glimpse of the Big 5 whilst watching the sunrise seems like a pretty good option to us, and where better than one of the largest game reserves in Africa to do so?! Stay here for a true taste of the luxury safari experience (http://www.hercampus.com/school/exeter/hcx-travel-resort-week-magical-faraway-treehouse). Watching zebras, elephants and leopards in their natural home or hearing the roar of lions in the distance over breakfast would make for a true bucket list experience.
