Here at HCX it is no secret that we love nothing more than having a little bit of a celeb stalk, and when they’re all in one place wearing designer gowns – It’s our heaven! So we thought we’d indulge ourselves by making a list of some of the most fabulous and fiercely dressed at the 2016 Met Gala. So settle down girls, grab some prosecco and live vicariously through this article with us. Oh to wear those dresses….
Blake Lively
Though Gossip Girl (sadly) may have finished years ago, Serena Van der Woodsen lives on in the form of Blake Lively, who’s fabulous style has us green with envy. At the Met Gala, Blake left us dazzled with her stunning custom designed Burberry gown. Adorned in a flowing cape decorated in dainty petals, Blake was blooming in this elegant dress (pun intended), you know we love her xoxo…
Claire Danes
Though she may have been the Juliet to Leo’s Romeo, there was nothing tragic about Claire Danes’ outfit at the Met Gala this year. In a silver glow in the dark Zac Posen dress, Danes oozed princess in her shimmering gown with its full flowing skirt and corseted top. Looking like Cinderella at the ball, Danes truly epitomised the phrase red carpet royalty.
Emma Stone
HCX is undeniably a huge fan of Emma Stone; and Easy A may well be one of our fave go-to chick flicks, but now we may love Emma even more after seeing her latest look. Dressed in a grecian white Prada dress, Emma owned the red carpet with this thigh high split dress. Looking fearless, Emma turned this classic look on it’s head with a gladiator twist. Metallic touches at the shoulders and a studded belt turned this look from elegant to bad ass.
Zoe Saldana
Everyone wants to stand out on the red carpet, and no one did this better than Zoe Saldana in her peacock inspired Dolce and Gabbana dress. The black corseted top contrast with a train speckled with dazzling bright colours; flushed with greens, reds and purples gave a definite regal impression.
Nina Dobrev
We can’t deny it; here at HCX we are huge Vampire Diaries fans (Delena forever), so we were more than a little excited to see Nina at the gala, and we were not disappointed. Wearing a muted gold Marchesa dress; Nina was breathtaking. Bedecked with intricate detailing of golden flowers and silvered gems, the bodice gleamed in the night, and the flowing skirt effortlessly swirled around her in a golden sheen; showing she’s more angel than vampire these days.
Emma Watson
But who really stole the show? When it comes down to it there was only one name on our lips. Dressed in a stunning custom made Calvin Klein dress, Emma Watson looked stylish and chic in an off the shoulder black and white dress. With a cream bodice and a modernised elongated black train, Emma was truly bewitching at the Met Gala (yes we really do need to stop with the puns). But what made the outfit all the more magical? This stunning dress was in fact made from recycled materials of repurposed plastic bottles. Turning trash into high fashion, Emma has once again shown herself to be an inspirational icon for people all over the world as she continues to pioneer and support the dream of a better world.
