Are you stuck for the perfect date to do with your significant other this Christmas? There are so many different things to do for a date night this month! I’ve tried to compile some of my favourites which don’t break the bank. Hopefully, these give you some inspiration for something fun to do with your partner this Christmas.

Christmas market

I feel like Christmas markets are perfect for a first date or a more casual evening with a long-term partner. The markets in Exeter and elsewhere are also great because they are free to enter. You can soak up the Christmas atmosphere, as well as pick up some Christmas gifts and warm up with a hot chocolate or mulled wine.

Gingerbread House

You can pick up a gingerbread house in pretty much any supermarket at the moment and have a cosy date night in with your partner. Put on some Christmas music or a cheesy Christmas film whilst decorating your gingerbread house together. The best part is you can eat it all afterwards!

Teach each other one of your family’s holiday traditions

This is a great way to get to know your partner better and experience the ways that they celebrated Christmas as a child. You could set aside an evening or a weekend to get to know all of the things your partner loves to do at Christmas and teach them one of your favourite traditions too.

Make DIY ornaments

If you and your partner are more creative, why not try to make Christmas decorations together? You could try making felt candy canes or Santa hats or decorate a bauble for each other to hang on the tree. You can get DIY kits online or in craft shops. This is a cute and cheap way to decorate your living space and have a keepsake as a reminder of the date as well.

Christmas lights walk

The final date idea on this list is a Christmas lights walk. While places like Kew Gardens or Stourhead have big light trails, you can walk around your own neighbourhood and see what your community has done to decorate. Wrap up nice and warm and see which houses have the best decorations to get you into the Christmas spirit.
