Stuck for ideas of what to get your sister for Christmas? Let HCX help you out…
1) Make up
It’s always nice to give your make up bag a spring clean, and what better time to do it than at Christmas when looking forward to the New Year and fresh beginnings. Buying your sister a new lip gloss or mascara will give her something to wear on Christmas day, as well as tick it off her New Year’s Eve shopping list. Something a bit different that is becoming increasingly popular is the Clinique Chubby Stick for lips, available in 8 different shades, and priced at a reasonable £16. If you have a slightly bigger budget, MAC do a great range of make-up brushes, either for foundation, blusher or eyeshadow. On a lower budget, Benefit do mini sets of Benefit make-up minis from just £9.50.
2) Jewellery
Whatever age your sister is, from 5 to 35, she will no doubt appreciate a pretty bracelet or necklace on Christmas morning. Be it a few colourful heart shaped beads on a piece of elastic from Claire’s Accessories for a little girl, or a pretty pair of silver studs from Accessorize. Another idea if you have slightly more to spend, and if your sister already has a charm bracelet, or a some Pandora stacking rings, is to get them a charm from Links London, Thomas Sabo or Lovelinks, or another stacking ring to add to their collection.
3) Bags and Purses
Get your 15 year old sister a new bag to walk into school with in the new Spring Term, or your older sister a new handbag to take into work with her, or a clutch to take on her next night out. John Lewis do a fantasticly priced satchel, suitable for any aged sister, and Topshop and Accessorize always have a huge range of shoulder bags, satchels, hand bags and clutches in a range of prices.
4) Nails
I wish I was the type of girl who always had pristine and perfectly polished nails, but I’m just not. If your sisters are either the same as me, or a nail art expert, I’m sure they’ll appreciate a manicure kit, nail polish and/or a nail kit. Barry M and Rimmel do good quality nail varnishes, and Asos do nail art pens from £4.00. It’s such a fun thing to do and get good at with your friends, and it’ll fill the couple of hours post-Christmas meal, when everyone is lying immobile on the sofa too full to move. Nail art is all over the fashion magazines, and HCX have done a great article on it too!
5) Cosy things
If your sister loves getting cosy and snuggled up on the sofa during these cold winter months, or has a student house with house mates that aren’t keen on paying for turning the heating on, get her a soft, warm dressing gown, pair of slippers or blanket to have at the end of her bed. Primark do dressing gowns for as little as £9.00 and slippers for ridiculously cheap prices too. For bigger budgets, Accessorize do the booty slippers that are popular for lounging round the house in and are so warm. A favourite of mine are these navy cable ones. This gorgeously soft throw is perfect for snuggling up with on the sofa too, or providing that little bit of extra warmth during the cold winter/spring months, and is available in 8 lovely colours!
