Rebecca Fenton is that girl we all want to be. She’s smashing her degree in English Literature alongside juggling a committee role for Bracton Law Society, a student job, and being an ambassador. And she does it all whilst looking glamorous and put together every single day! We caught up with her to find out a bit more about her life here in Exeter.

Hi Rebecca, how are you finding your role as General Secretary for Bracton Law Society this year?
It can be very time consuming as we have over 1,000 members, but it’s also so rewarding. I’ve absolutely loved getting to know so many new people this year through BLS.
That’s amazing. We hear you’re also Ashurst’s Campus Ambassador this year, can you tell us a bit about that?
It’s my job to represent the law firm Ashurst to budding lawyers at Exeter University. I help organise events and suggest new ways the firm can market to students on campus.
You’re in the final year of your degree now, what are your plans after university?
(Ideally) I would love to start my law conversion in Exeter next year- I’m not ready to leave just yet! Eventually I’d love to move to London and work for a commercial law firm, but I’ll have to wait and see what the future holds.
What with your degree and your committee position you must be pretty busy, what else do you love to do in Exeter? Is it hard to juggle your time?
I love going for cocktails- Monkey Suit and Artigiano’s are my absolute top spots. Monday night DSP at Arena is always my favourite night out. Yes it can be hard to juggle my time, but no one will ever look back on their university experience and remember the days they sat around doing nothing!
That’s so true! Tell us about the Winter Law Ball that’s coming up and why it is going to be a great night? Here at HCX we love fashion and beauty, so please tell us a bit about what you’re wearing!
The BLS Winter Law Ball is the event of the year! It’s always such a fun night (partly because its one of the only nights of the year it is acceptable to wear heels in Exeter). This year I’ll be wearing a full length embellished dress and a pair of 5-inch heels I absolutely cannot walk in. Last year I spent hours, if not days, getting ready and I can assure you that this year will be no different!
We’re sure you’ll look fabulous, it sounds like a great night! Thanks for chatting with us, Rebecca.
