This month, HCX had the opportunity to have a catch up with the not only beautiful, but ridiculously talented second year English and Spanish student, Hannah Preece. A renowned twerker who loves to shake a booty after a cocktail or two, Hannah spends her free time learning Portuguese (Ole!); playing golf; slaying the make-up game and getting into passionate arguments in Deb Soc!Â
Hey Hannah! Thanks so much for finding time to speak to us! So whereabouts are you from in our lovely (and rainy) UK?Â
No problem at all! So I’m from Wokingham, which is in the Reading area, although my Mum’s side of the family are from India.Â
You must eat some pretty great curry then? Perfect for after a night out!
I mean.. This is true. My grandma makes a mean curry. I’ve decided that I want to try making some for my flatmates for Diwali this year, which should be interesting! Although, as far as nights out in Wokingham go, they can get a bit repetitive since there is literally one club, and no-one goes! Reading is your best bet in that area.Â
So do you have any pets at home?
My sister and I used to have so many fish when we were younger, all of whom were called Graham, amazingly. Literally, every single one of them.Â
I reckon Graham is a pretty brilliant name for a fish, I think I might call my next fish Graham. Seeing as you were clearly great at naming pets, did you do anything else particularly amazing when you were younger?
Well… I did eat a whole box of artisan chocolates that my Dad got my Mum when he was away. I ate the whole huge box in one sitting and my Dad discovered me with the empty packet. Sorry, but chocolate is life.
Couldn’t agree more! So I hear you’re joining a pretty amazing Exeter English scheme this year?Â
Yeah! I’m actually really looking forward to it! A big group of us are going to take some of our favourite books into elderly people’s care-homes and read them to those who want to listen. I just think it’s an amazing way to share literature, and to give something back to those whom we definitely owe a lot.Â
That sounds pretty inspiring if you ask us! So in the vein of inspiring, what song have you had on repeat this week?
Without a doubt, On My Mind by Georgia Smith. Honestly the best, I love her voice!
And what one thing are you most looking forward to this term at Exeter?
Well, as much as I love Exeter, and you can’t beat a Wednesday TP night with the girls, what I am most excited about now is actually happening a bit further afield. I’m going to visit my best friend in Southampton this weekend, and we’re going to meet Kem from Love Island! Tragic, but oh so exciting!
We couldn’t agree more Hannah, anyone who says they weren’t obsessed with Love Island this year, is a pathological liar!
Thank you so much for talking to us Hannah, and have a great time this weekend! Crazy beautiful, put together, smart and funny- is there anything this girl can’t do?Â
