The lovely folks at Saks Exeter kindly donated a complimentary haircut for our Christmas Raffle, which I was thrilled to win.
I wanted quite a dramatic change, opting to get rid of my perpetually long hair for a blunt bob.Though I was a little worried as I rarely do anything different with my hair, I was clearly in good hands with the lovely Adam at Saks!
The salon, part of a nation-wise franchise, opened in the Princesshay shopping centre three years ago and has gone from strength to strength since, winning multiple awards.
Start to finish, my experience in Saks was welcoming, professional and a little bit luxurious. The staff are very attentive; quickly whisking away my jacket, serving me a cafetiere of coffee, and asking which magazines I’d like. Oh, and the massage chairs were an absolute delight!
Â
Adam, my stylist, was definitely the star of the show. He was really friendly and, most importantly, keen to understand exactly the look I was aiming for. I’m sure you all understand those excruciating experiences, when you’re supposed to blink back the tears and pretend you absolutely love the monstrosity that is the ‘misunderstood haircut’. Thankfully, there is no chance of this at Saks!
He quickly set to work, and soon my long locks were replaced with a flattering, sleek bob fit for a third year who looks as though she deserves to be employed (I hope..!)
