Now that the Spring Summer London Fashion Week 2013 is done and dusted, here at HCX we thought a little reassessment of our favourite Fashion Show moments of all time might be in order, so ready yourself for our big top 5…
Â
1. Perhaps one of the most memorable catwalk moments in fashion history is more embarrassing than others… model, Naomi Campbell graced the catwalk in a pair of 9inch heels in the Vivienne Westwood Winter/Autumn 1993 show. Naomi took a memorable tumble on the catwalk, making this show one of the most talked about and remembered in history – good to know that even iconic supermodels can have a bad day!

2. Chanel’s Carousel Winter/Autumn 2008 show has to be a personal favorite of mine. Karl Lagerfeld literally created a fantastic giant white carousel where is models where showcased; a grown up girl’s playground if you will. Trust Lagerfeld to create something quite so extravagant laced with beautiful clothes bags and shoes. Karl… you little genius, you. Take a little look at the show on the link below…

3. Although not technically on the catwalk, Moncler Outwear label showcased their new line for Autumn Winter 2011 in Grand Central Station by performing a beautifully choreographed Flash Mob. This innovative fashion show was in keeping with the times, making it one of the most fun and creative catwalk shows to date.

4. Alexander McQueen, known for his theatrical run way shows, wowed the audience of his Spring Summer 1999 show by using two robotic arms to spray paint a women in a white dress. This was a beautiful and dramatic finale to McQueen’s show, and also proved that he was bold enough, not only to create individual clothes, but also to create clothing in front of his audience. Here’s a little clip of the performance below..

5. Lastly, another McQueen special, was during his Spring Summer 2006 show where McQueen presented his audience with a hologram of Kate Moss moving beautifully in a silk torn dress. For us, this has to be on the list of top catwalk moments, as McQueen was daring enough to use a hologram; something new which threatened the stability of the catwalk and modeling industry as we know it.Â
